Job summary

Sun Communities is seeking a Senior Team Relations Specialist to act as a subject matter expert in employee relations, policy interpretation, and risk mitigation. You will mentor the Team Relations Specialist team and guide leaders to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture across the organization.

The role emphasizes handling complex investigations, policy guidance, and training resources to strengthen the function's capabilities and ensure compliant practices across Sun's

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business or related field is required.
• Master's degree in HR, business or related field is preferred.
• 6 years of progressive HR experience with a direct focus on employee relations.
• 6 years of experience conducting workplace investigations including harassment and discrimination.
• 6 years of experience interpreting and advising on federal, state, and local employment law.
• 6 years of experience leading managers through performance management processes.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• PHR certification required; SPHR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Champions and models Sun's culture and drives an inclusive workplace.
• Advise on complex employee relations matters and policy interpretation.
• Maintain thorough documentation of employee relations matters and investigations.
• Coach leaders on performance management, conflict resolution, and engagement.
• Lead high-risk investigations into discrimination, harassment, and misconduct.
• Develop investigation frameworks and resources for the Team Relations team.
• Mentor the Team Relations Specialist team and foster growth.
• Identify opportunities and implement solutions to drive results.
• Administer exit interviews and recommend retention strategies.
• Develop, review, and maintain job descriptions for alignment with goals.
• Design special projects and HR process improvements.
• Assist with Sun's J1 Visa program compliance.
• Create resources and training materials for support teams.
