Job summary

Sun Communities is seeking a Senior Team Relations Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert and mentor within the Team Relations team. The role focuses on employee relations, policy interpretation, and risk mitigation across the organization.

The STRS will guide investigations, coach leaders on performance management, and develop resources that elevate the function's effectiveness and readiness. A strong HR background and ability to handle confidential matters are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• 6+ years of progressive HR experience focusing on employee relations.
• Experience conducting workplace investigations and policy interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME and mentor for employee relations within Sun's Team Relations.
• Lead high-risk investigations and document legally defensible outcomes.
• Coach leaders on performance management, discipline, and engagement.
• Develop processes, templates, and training for the Team Relations team.
• Manage exit interviews and retention analysis; propose improvements.
• Assist with job descriptions and HR policy alignment across the org.
• Support Sun's J1 Visa program compliance in partnership with stakeholders.
