Job summary

Lurie Children’s Hospital, a premier pediatric center in Chicago, seeks a Manager of Employee Relations to guide leaders and staff on complex HR matters. You will partner with the Sr. Director to ensure compliant practices and maintain a respectful work environment.

You will lead investigations, develop policies, and coach leadership on engagement strategies while aligning with federal, state, and local laws. A strong HR background and leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in HR or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in employee relations; 8 years accepted in lieu of degree.
• Experience leading teams is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee relations within HR; develop policies and processes for internal audits.
• Oversee investigations of harassment, discrimination, or policy violations with confidential records.
• Resolve escalated workplace issues with fair, consistent treatment.
• Coach leaders to improve engagement and retention while ensuring legal compliance.
• Consult with employees seeking HR assistance and develop resolution strategies.
• Update HR policies in partnership with leadership and educate managers/employees.
