Job summary

The School District of Philadelphia seeks an Employee & Labor Relations Officer to coordinate and implement effective, equitable employee relations across all employee groups. You will advise on collective bargaining provisions and serve as liaison between management and labor representatives.

You will investigate misconduct, render recommendations on discipline, and contribute to staff development and contract negotiations with data-backed insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Six years of full-time, paid, professional experience in industrial or labor relations, or in education with relevant duties.
• Experience with hearings, grievances, or contract negotiations is needed.

Responsibilities

• Clarify provisions of collective bargaining agreements and provide guidance on labor relations.
• Act as liaison between management and labor representatives to resolve contract interpretation issues.
• Investigate allegations of misconduct and make recommendations regarding discipline or termination.
• Conduct staff development sessions on policy changes and contract interpretation.
• Support contract negotiations with data and background research; prepare briefs for arbitrations.
