Job summary

The School District of Philadelphia seeks an Employee Relations Officer to coordinate and implement equitable employee/labor relations across all employee groups. This is a full-time, 12-month non-represented position with a salary range of $81,265 to $103,254.

Qualifications

• Understanding of personnel administration and grievance procedures.
• Ability to analyze labor contract and agreement provisions.
• Experience in staff development and training.
• Strong data gathering, analysis and judgment in recommendations.
• Clear written and oral communication.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Clarify provisions of collective bargaining agreements for Talent Partners.
• Liaise between management and labor representatives on contract interpretation.
• Investigate misconduct allegations and recommend actions.
• Conduct investigations into significant misconduct with guidance.
• Render final recommendations regarding suspension, demotion, or termination.
• Provide expert advice on policy and contract interpretation.
• Review and process grievances and assist arbitration briefs.
• Conduct staff development on contracts and policy changes.
• Participate on committees to implement workplace policy reforms.
• Collect data to support investigations and contract negotiations.
• Create tools and templates for administrators.
• Attend meetings and travel as required.
