Job summary

Gregory & Appel, an Indianapolis-based independent insurance agency, seeks an experienced Account Executive to lead renewals and manage a portfolio of employee benefits clients.

You will be the trusted advisor, working with Producers, Account Managers, Operations, and carrier partners to retain and grow accounts, with limited Producer support and strategic involvement in new business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of insurance experience in account management or related roles.
• Proven ability to independently manage client accounts.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including with senior executives.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Licensure: Active Life & Health license.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Own renewals from start to finish: set timelines, gather data, review options, negotiate with carriers, and present recommendations.
• Build long-term client relationships and proactively engage clients throughout the year.
• Lead renewal meetings and coordinate internal teams, carriers, and vendors to deliver on commitments.
• Resolve client issues and escalations with a solutions-oriented approach.
• Identify coverage gaps and cross-sell opportunities, and partner with Producers on new business and referrals.
• Keep accurate account records in agency systems and stay current on market, carrier, and regulatory developments.
