Job summary

USI Insurance Services in Rancho Cordova, CA is seeking an experienced attorney to monitor and communicate ongoing and changing laws affecting health and welfare plans, including ACA, ERISA, the Code, HIPAA, and COBRA. The role includes developing and presenting materials on compliance topics to internal sales teams and external clients.

You will join a national team of Employee Benefit Attorneys to address health and welfare compliance issues, research and publish articles, and develop tools

Qualifications

• J.D. and law license required.
• 4 - 8 years experience in working on compliance issues of employer-sponsored welfare benefits plans.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office Suite and Adobe products.
• Strong leadership, public speaking, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA and related laws affecting health and welfare plans.

Responsibilities

• Establish relationships with internal partners, clients and carriers.
• Will function as part of a national team of Employee Benefit Attorneys to meet the objectives for the health and welfare compliance team.
• Research, read, evaluate and edit articles, alerts and other materials for publication or distribution to clients.
• Gathers material and assists client service team in strategy to solve client problems related to ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA and state issues.
• Develop and maintain compliance education tools for health and welfare compliance.
• Create and deliver presentations to internal staff and external clients and prospects.
• Monitor and identify legal developments affecting employee benefit plans.
• Maintain and update compliance library resources.
