Job summary

FNIC in Omaha, Nebraska seeks a Sr. Compliance Consultant, Employee Benefits to help clients and internal teams navigate ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and related laws.

You’ll translate complex rules into practical guidance, review plans for regulatory gaps, and support compliance reviews across our client base. You’ll stay current on federal and state changes, lead training, partner with legal counsel, and collaborate with Account Managers to embed compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, legal studies, or related discipline preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive employee benefits experience with responsibilities for health and welfare benefits compliance.
• Knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Internal Revenue Code provisions affecting employee benefits, Section 125, FMLA and state leave laws.
• Experience in a consulting, brokerage, or TPA environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted compliance resource for clients and internal teams on employee benefits regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, Section 125, coverage transparency acts).
• Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance and actionable steps for client plans.
• Review benefit program structures to identify compliance gaps and recommend next steps.
• Lead compliance training and educational sessions for clients and internal teams.
