Job summary

Vast is seeking a Senior EMI-EMC Test Engineer to support the development of systems for human-rated space stations. The role is full-time and located in Long Beach, CA, reporting to the Senior Manager, EMI-EMC.

Responsibilities include implementing MIL-STD-461 test methods, developing test procedures, and performing development and qualification tests on spacecraft hardware. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related STEM field.
• 4+ years of EMI/EMC test experience or similar role.
• Deep understanding of MIL-STD-461, DO-160, CISPR or similar EMC standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement MIL-STD-461 test methods at on-site EMC test facility and remote locations.
• Develop EMI-EMC test procedures and methodologies used at Vast.
• Perform EMI-EMC development and qualification tests of spacecraft and components.
• Conduct measurements such as bonding resistance, shielding effectiveness, and RF field strengths.
