Job summary

City of Dallas seeks an experienced Emergency Management Specialist III to lead and guide high-level emergency management projects and program administration.

The role requires coordinating crisis response, mitigation, and recovery efforts, with oversight of training materials and plans; the candidate will serve as SME for large events, often outside business hours, and contribute to long-term training strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field required.
• Five years of disaster or emergency management experience.
• Texas Class C driver's license with good driving record.
• CEM certification preferred.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide emergency management program areas.
• Oversee development and execution of training and exercise materials.
• Review and analyze emergency plans; develop new plans as needed.
• Recommend procedural revisions; evaluate EOC activations for improvements.
• Act as SME for emergencies and large events, including after hours.
• Provide input and updates to the City of Dallas Multi-Year Training and Exercise Plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
