Job summary

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is seeking a Program Specialist III (Emergency Management Specialist) in Austin to support the State Parks Division’s emergency management operations. The role involves planning, training, reporting and exercising emergency plans, with potential deployment during incidents and events.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years in emergency management or related fields, plus appropriate licensure including a CDL within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two years experience in emergency management, public administration, risk management or FEMA grant administration.
• Licensure: valid Texas driver's license; CDL required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative services and technical assistance for emergency management operations in the State Parks Division.
• Assist with planning training, reporting, monitoring and tracking for preparedness, prevention, response and recovery functions.
• Review Emergency Operations plans and assist in exercises for COOP; may deploy during emergencies or events.
• Manage equipment caches and monitor weather data; provide daily reports to management and park staff.
