Jefferson Parish in Louisiana seeks an experienced Emergency Management professional to oversee a broad program portfolio, including training, exercises, continuity, and logistics. The role leads senior projects across multiple EM areas and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to implement the Emergency Operations Plan and strategic goals.

The position requires a minimum of five years in emergency management as well as an accredited Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Fire Science, Atmospheric Science/Meteorology, Homeland Security, or related field.
• At least five (5) years of experience in an emergency management capacity (such as a disaster planner, EM educator…).

Responsabilidades

• Oversee a programmatic portfolio including Training and Exercise; Continuity; Operations; Logistics; Alert/Warning; Planning; Continuous Improvement.
• Lead senior level special projects spanning multiple emergency management areas and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and improve SOPs, guidelines, and procedures to assist teams during emergencies or operational needs.
• Support capability development across preparedness activities to implement EOP and Emergency Management Strategic goals.
• Coordinate with parish departments and external agencies to develop multiagency planning approaches.
• Act within the Incident Command System during emergencies and non-emergencies, facilitating action planning and preparations.
