Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Management professional to lead hazard analyses and emergency operation planning. You will coordinate staff training, organize drills, and activate ICS during emergencies to ensure rapid response and regulatory readiness.

The role includes developing COOP plans, tracking compliance, and collaborating with regional coalitions. A strong regulatory background and NIMS familiarity are essential for success in this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Minimum five to seven years of related experience.
• Knowledge of CMS/TJC/DNV regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
• Experience with state medical facilities licensure requirements preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HVAs and EOPs with updates.
• Monitor local compliance with Emergency Management regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate education and training for hospital staff on emergency procedures.
• Organize local drills and full-scale exercises to test response capabilities.
• Activate and manage the hospital ICS during emergencies.
• Facilitate debriefings and AARs after incidents.
• Draft and update COOP plans and training; track compliance.
• Ensure documentation and reporting of emergency management activities.
• Participate in regional healthcare coalitions and emergency planning committees.
