Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUHA) seeks an Emergency Department Technician III to support the ED under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role involves multi-skilled activities to promote a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care and help achieve optimal outcomes.

The candidate must hold a High School diploma or GED, be a certified Paramedic with at least 1 year of patient care experience, and complete required online modules, phlebotomy and EKG training

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certified Paramedic with at least 1 year of patient care experience.
• Must complete online course modules, phlebotomy training and EKG training within six months.
• Unit-specific training and competency demonstration required within six months.
• Shift work, irregular hours, holidays and weekends may be required.
• Copy of academic degree or transcript may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach.
• Provide care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Support ED operations and patient flow as part of the team.
