The Medical University of South Carolina (MUHA) seeks an Emergency Department Technician II to support a patient-centered ED workflow under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role emphasizes multi-skilled bedside care and seamless collaboration with the care team.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year patient care experience or EMT certification, and completion of phlebotomy and EKG training within six months.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Preferred experience as Patient Care Tech, nursing assistant, or nursing student with one Adult Medical/Surgical course with hands-on clinical experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of patient care experience in a health care environment or EMT.
• Within six months, pass online course modules, phlebotomy training and skills validation for basic/advanced skills, and EKG training with 80% on tests.
• Emergency Department Technician unit-specific training must be completed within six months or employment may be terminated.
• Required licenses/certifications: High School Diploma; BLS certification (Red Cross or AHA); SC EMT certification.
