Job summary

The Emergency Department Technician III at MUSC Health reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide multi-skilled patient care in a fast-paced ED setting. Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Paramedic with a minimum of 1 year of patient care experience in a health care environment.
  • Within six months of hire date, must pass online course modules, phlebotomy training and skills validation for basic and advanced skills, and EKG training.
  • Passing requires 80% on each test in two attempts or separation from employment.
  • Unit-specific training and competency demonstration within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs multi-skilled activities to support patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Works to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care.
  • Adheres to MUHA policies and participates in required training and certifications.
