Job summary

CNY Fertility in Norfolk, VA seeks an Embryology Supervisor to lead the embryology team and oversee daily lab operations. You will supervise staff, perform quality control, and manage oocyte/embryo handling from retrieval to freezing.

This role requires weekend and holiday rotation and strong technical expertise in IVF procedures. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a related lab science and 5+ years in embryology with supervisory experience, along with solid communication skills for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical, medical or reproductive laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution required. Minimum 5 years of experience in Embryology lab and 1 year of supervisory experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operate and maintain instructions; write routine reports and speak before groups.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs and multitask in fast paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Daily quality control, media preparation and dish preparation
• Microscope and pipettor use
• Use of lab equipment such as balance, pH meter, CO2 monitor, labeler
• Oocyte retrieval and denuding of oocytes
• Embryo and oocyte thawing/freezing
• Fertilization checks and embryo transfers
• ICSI and conventional fertilization techniques
• Schedule procedures, complete tasks, navigate patient charts
• Understand cryopreservation and storage of specimens
• Supervise the embryology staff and scheduling
• Respond to alarms as part of the lab's alarm response team
