Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine invites applications for a Senior Embryologist in the OB/GYN IVF program. The role works under laboratory leadership and independently performs basic and advanced ART procedures, interfacing with physicians and supporting Embryologists Levels I and II.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in chemical, physical, biological, medical technology, clinical or reproductive laboratory science.
• 3+ years in a clinical laboratory setting performing basic and advanced embryology techniques with experience in in-vitro fertilization.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills with ability to interact appropriately and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Study and review Embryology Laboratory SOPs and be familiar with QC/QA, safety procedures and operating guidelines for lab services.
• Comply with OSHA and HIPAA regulations and use universal precautions for bloodborne pathogens.
• Demonstrate competency in basic and advanced ART procedures: lab cleaning, media handling, tissue culture, equipment QC, sperm prep, IVF insemination, embryo handling, vitrification, ICSI, etc.
• Maintain records of training for each procedure and ensure chain of custody for all specimens.
• Record and report laboratory monitoring, quality control, and patient results in EMR systems or lab software; data entry to registries as needed.
• Provide day-to-day oversight, training and mentoring of staff, participate in inspections, and assist in preparing for audits.
