Job summary

Leidos LLC in Huntsville, AL seeks an Embedded Software Test Engineer to support testing and validation of embedded systems across complex environments. You will drive Python-based automation, develop test frameworks, and ensure end-to-end software test lifecycle coverage from planning to reporting.

You'll collaborate with software, systems, and hardware teams to validate interfaces, analyze test data, and generate detailed findings.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
12+ years of software testing/verification for embedded systems (or 10+ years with MS).
Active secret security clearance required.
Experience testing embedded systems and integrated hardware/software platforms.
Experience with software automation testing and automated environments.
Strong Python scripting and debugging skills.
Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks.
Ability to analyze complex test data and map requirements to test scenarios.
Experience RTMs and interfaces between software, firmware, and hardware.
Experience CI/CD integration and SAFe workflows.

Responsibilities

Support testing and validation activities for embedded systems.
Develop and maintain Python-based automated tests and test frameworks.
Troubleshoot across embedded software, networking, hardware interfaces, and test environments.
Collaborate with software, systems, and hardware engineers and stakeholders.
Support regression, performance, and formal testing activities.
Document test plans, procedures, and results; perform post-test analysis.
