Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking engineers for the D430 SSBN Weapon System Engineering group. The department develops in-house embedded systems and integrates government equipment to support Columbia Class weapon systems.

The team focuses on simulation, testing, and environmental verification, using Simulink, LabVIEW, and Java across Linux/Windows/RTOS, with a mix of on-site and remote work depending on the position. Security clearance is required for certain roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of post-graduate engineering experience.
• Experience with component testing.
• Experience leading a team.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop system and component level test procedures traceable to requirements.
• Develop and execute test procedures to verify system and component requirements.
• Develop and maintain requirements for simulators.
• Develop software for custom simulators.
• Participate in environmental testing.
• Find and troubleshoot bugs in the system.
• Develop custom simulators modeling ship systems with real-time IO.
• Develop and maintain custom test equipment used in construction grooming.
• Verify requirements of components for US and UK submarines.
• Prepare test reports documenting as-run results.
• Develop system simulation to provide input/output responses.
• Project management including technical, budget, and schedule management.
