Hillenbrand is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead development of software for embedded Linux platforms, industrial controls, instrumentation systems, and IoT edge devices.

You will provide technical leadership across disciplines, design scalable, secure solutions, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with product management and operations. This on-site role supports Solon, OH, with a focus on reliability and innovation in industrial environments.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with Linux-based and embedded platforms.
• Experience with industrial controls/IoT or edge computing.
• Familiarity with AI/ML and data analytics desirable.
• Experience with real-time, multithreaded applications.
• Knowledge of frontend/backend web technologies is a plus.
• Experience with secure development practices and cybersecurity.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and full-stack web apps.
• DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design, development, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining complex software applications and embedded systems.
• Develop software for embedded Linux platforms, industrial controls, instrumentation systems, and IoT edge devices.
• Lead software architecture, design reviews, and projects from concept to deployment.
• Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications, dashboards, and data visualization tools.
• Develop cloud-connected applications and services for remote monitoring, diagnostics, analytics, device management, and digital product offerings.
• Develop algorithms for data acquisition, signal processing, analytics, AI, and operational intelligence solutions.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, controls, manufacturing, and product management teams.
• Develop and implement AI-enabled capabilities to enhance automation, diagnostics, and efficiency.
• Ensure software quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI, cybersecurity practices, and standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement, innovation, and product modernization.
