A growing consumer technology company in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join its core engineering team. You will own critical components of an advanced embedded platform used by customers worldwide.

The role focuses on secure boot, Linux firmware, hardware integration, and IoT connectivity, with autonomy and collaboration across international manufacturing teams to ensure quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded software/firmware experience.
• Strong C and/or C++ programming skills.
• Deep experience with Embedded Linux environments.
• Hands-on with Yocto, Bitbake, and system.
• Linux kernel development experience.
• Experience with IoT or connected hardware products.
• Knowledge of software security principles.
• Ability to support manufacturing and deployment activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded Linux firmware; ownership of critical components.
• Contribute to platform security engineering and tooling.
• Collaborate with hardware teams for integration and validation.
• Support manufacturing and deployment activities as needed.
