Motorola Solutions is seeking an experienced engineer to bridge electrical engineering and firmware, shaping hardware and firmware for an industry-leading access control platform. You will work across design teams to ensure cohesive system architecture and validate concepts through rapid prototyping.

The role involves board bring-up, hardware/software interface validation, and collaboration with CM/JDM partners in Asia. A BS in EE/CE and hands-on experience with embedded systems are required.

Qualifications

• Bridge between electrical engineering and firmware, read schematics and write C code.
• Prototyping: develop proof-of-concept firmware/hardware to validate ideas.
• Experience with FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or Debian/Linux is valuable.
• Translate product requirements into hardware/firmware constraints.
• Strong verbal and written communication; collaborate across teams.
• Willingness to travel to Asia 1–2 times per year; international collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Architectural Definition: define technical requirements aligning electrical and firmware architectures with cloud/mobile features.
• Rapid Prototyping & R&D: build proof-of-concepts to answer feasibility questions early in design.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: coordinate with electrical design, mechanical, cloud, and mobile teams.
• Technical Partner Management: oversee design execution with CM/JDM partners in Asia.
• System Bring-up: perform initial board bring-up and hardware/software interface validation.
• Hardware Validation: use oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to optimize hardware for power and performance.
