Job summary

BetterCloud is seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer IV to lead software development across next-gen hardware platforms. You will own the full software lifecycle for devices, integrating low-level firmware with sensors, edge compute, and cloud services.

You will architect and implement production-grade embedded code on platforms like Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson, build robust drivers for peripherals, and optimize for edge AI workloads.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS/CE/EE or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of embedded software development.
• Expert-level proficiency in C and C++.
• OS: Embedded Linux with kernel config and device trees.
• Experience with Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
• Proficiency in Python or Bash for testing and automation.
• Experience developing drivers for sensors and peripheral interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain embedded software from prototype to production.
• Develop firmware and middleware on platforms including Raspberry Pi, Jetson, and SOMs.
• Write low-level drivers for sensors and peripherals (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, PCIe).
• Optimize edge compute with hardware acceleration (CUDA, TensorRT).
• Design fault-detection and OTA firmware update systems for field stability.
• Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and cloud teams on architectures.
• Mentor junior engineers and enforce code quality through reviews.
