Job summary
5V Tech is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to advance edge AI and audio signal processing on embedded Linux SBCs. You will build real-time inference pipelines, optimize C/C++ software, and collaborate with hardware engineers to qualify new sensors.
The role emphasizes CI/CD ownership, security and networking for edge-to-cloud data flows, and close teamwork with a small, high-trust engineering group in the SF Bay Area.
Qualifications
- Experience in audio engineering or acoustic/DSP signal processing is essential.
- Strong Linux and C/C++ skills; assembly language experience is a plus.
- Able to collaborate with hardware design teams and manage CI/CD pipelines.
- Based in the San Francisco Bay Area; no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Support and grow a lean edge engineering function, reducing key-person dependency on the existing team.
- Design, integrate, and qualify hardware components on embedded Linux SBC platforms, focusing on acoustic/audio sensing systems.
- Develop and maintain C/C++ software for real-time, on-device inference, including audio signal processing pipelines, with some assembly work.
- Own CI/CD pipelines and build/release processes for embedded deployments.
- Apply networking and security best practices across edge-to-cloud data pipelines.
- Work directly with hardware designers to prototype and qualify new sensor components.
