Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks an Embedded Systems Engineer to design software/firmware for real-time embedded platforms and contribute to next-generation electronic warfare systems. You will work with a multidisciplinary team including FPGA/embedded software engineers to bring concepts to prototypes.

Qualified candidates have a degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, strong C/C++/Python/MATLAB skills, and experience with embedded systems and FPGAs,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Experience with MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with embedded systems and embedded programming.
• General knowledge of embedded systems design with FPGAs.
• Eligibility for Interim Secret clearance, ultimately Secret; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop software and firmware for real-time embedded systems.
• Implement DSP algorithms for communication, data link, radar and jamming signals.
• Integrate embedded systems with EW payloads.
• Apply ML/AI algorithms for EW applications.
• Test and demonstrate work in field tests and lab demos.
