Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to design software and firmware for real-time embedded systems. You will develop DSP algorithms for communications, radar, and EW signals, and integrate embedded systems with EW payloads.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related field) and experience with MATLAB, C/C++, and Python, plus embedded systems design with FPGAs. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related technical field.
  • Experience with MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with embedded systems and embedded programming.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems design with FPGAs.
  • Eligibility for Interim Secret clearance and ultimate Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software and firmware for real-time embedded systems.
  • Implement DSP algorithms for communications, data link, radar, and jamming signals.
  • Integrate embedded systems with EW payloads.
  • Apply ML/AI algorithms for EW applications.
  • Test and demonstrate work in field tests and lab demos.
