Heaviside Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced software engineer to develop robust C/C++ and Python software for autonomous precision munitions in Linux/RTOS environments.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, RF, and systems engineers to take capabilities from prototype to production, building interfaces to sensors, radios, actuators, and cameras. The role emphasizes fast iteration through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and streamlined CI processes.

Formación

• Strong proficiency in C and C++, with Python experience for tooling or integration.
• Hands-on embedded Linux or RTOS, cross-compilation, hardware/software debugging.
• Experience with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet and network programming.
• Experience integrating sensors, radios, actuators, or hardware into production/field systems.
• Familiar with Git and collaborative software development workflows.

Responsabilidades

• Write robust C, C++, and Python for real-time, resource-constrained environments on Linux/RTOS.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, RF, and systems engineers to move capabilities from prototype to production.
• Design and maintain software for autonomous systems including embedded and mission software.
• Build interfaces to sensors, radios, actuators, cameras and other hardware; validate on bench and in field.
• Develop simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and automated test infrastructure for rapid iteration.
• Support integration campaigns and field-test events with debugging on live hardware.
• Contribute to lightweight engineering practices: code review, CI, and pragmatic documentation.
