Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Software Manager to lead embedded software teams across Launch Systems programs. This role will manage a team of about 10 engineers, overseeing program execution, staffing, and technical delivery across multiple programs onsite.

You will balance functional management with hands-on technical work, partnering with Systems and Electrical Engineering, GN&C, and leadership to address execution challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience or Master’s with 6 years of professional experience
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application
• Experience in embedded, real-time, mission-critical software environments

Responsibilities

• Lead a software engineering team supporting embedded, real-time, and mission-critical applications across multiple programs
• Provide performance management, coaching, mentoring, and development planning for engineers
• Support creation, updating, and maintenance of software engineering processes and standards
• Guide software lifecycle execution from requirements through delivery and sustainment
• Promote disciplined engineering practices including reviews and hands-on support
• Partner with Systems, Electrical, GN&C, and program leadership to resolve challenges
• Balance functional management with direct technical and program execution support
• Support continuous improvement in tools, DevSecOps workflows, and delivery practices
• Other duties as assigned
