KLA in Milpitas, CA, is seeking a Lead Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and sustain real-time control software for reticle inspection systems. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and influence architecture across hardware and software boundaries.

This role requires 8+ years in embedded software, strong C/C++, Linux/RTOS, motion control, and a passion for production-quality code.

Qualifications

8+ years embedded software development experience in an industrial environment.
Strong C/C++ programming skills with OO design.
Deep experience with Linux/RTOS, multithreading, synchronization, and software architecture design.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex software and firmware for machine control in semiconductor inspection systems.
Architect robust, scalable software for system control, high-speed data acquisition, and image processing.
Collaborate with mechanical, systems, electrical, optics, algorithms, and applications teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence within the team.
Drive best practices: Agile, CI/CD, automated testing and create test plans; analyze results and document findings.
Troubleshoot complex system-level issues and optimize performance of critical software.
Contribute to project planning, risk management, and technical roadmap discussions.
