Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Flight Software team. You will determine spacecraft behavior in orbit and build reliable software across requirements capture through flight operations support.

Responsibilities include developing firmware for the spacecraft, owning design-to-test processes, and crafting C++ software for bare metal, RTOS, or Linux environments. Collaboration with hardware and systems teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the development of spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Proficient in C++ with strong language fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware to control spacecraft operations end-to-end.
• Own all software development phases from design to integration.
• Perform design trades and requirements capture for open-ended problems.
• Write structured bare-metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded software in C++.
• Ensure software quality via testing, verification and validation (V&V) techniques.
• Collaborate across hardware and software teams to ensure mission success.
