Job summary

Silvus Technologies in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Engineering Group and contribute to the development of MANET radios and MN-MIMO waveform. You will work on device drivers, networking functions, encryption, and security features for our mission-critical systems.

This role is 100% onsite, reporting to the Senior Engineering Director, with work on Linux, ARM/RISC-V platforms, and security protocols. Candidates must be a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer or Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of embedded software development; 3 years with advanced STEM degree.
• Expertise in C programming and Linux kernel driver development.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for government contracts.
• Background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Implement software for MAC and MANET routing protocols.
• Develop network management software and web interfaces.
• Implement security protocols and encryption algorithms.
• Develop audio streaming and push-to-talk features.
• Improve product security to meet NIST FIPS 140-3 and NIAP criteria.
• Create testing software for performance and reliability.
• Develop device drivers and BSPs for ARM and RISC-V.
• Linux system customization and scripting.
