Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Developer to join the COMSEC team within the Core Systems and Components group. You will develop and maintain embedded software for secure communications, working with FPGA designers to deliver robust software for aerospace applications.

Responsibilities include end-to-end software lifecycle, device authentication, secure boot, and ZTA alignment. A TS clearance and DoD-level security experience are preferred in a collaborative,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/ Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with RTOS and hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe).
• Familiarity with FPGA interfaces and register-level hardware integration.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and Secure Boot concepts.
• Experience with cryptographic systems and PKI.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for COMSEC systems.
• Collaborate with Electrical Circuit and FPGA Designers for hardware/software integration.
• Drive the software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Develop drivers and firmware for embedded platforms; support hardware bring-up.
• Contribute to software architecture reviews and documentation.
• Develop verification plans and automated tests for secure communications.
