Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a software engineer to define requirements, ICDs, and verification plans for high-integrity code in a fast-paced defense program. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to capture cross-domain interfaces and ensure system consistency.

You will develop verification matrices and automated tests to validate functions align with system requirements, lead traceability, and support design reviews, configuration management, and HWIL demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Define and generate software functional requirements, ICDs, and verification plans to enable high integrity code.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain.
• Experience with cross-domain interfaces and verification.
• Strong traceability using tool suites (IBM DOORS, CAMEO).

Responsibilities

• Define and generate software functional requirements, ICDs, and verification test plans to enable the program's software teams to develop high integrity code.
• Work closely with subsystem leads to capture cross domain interfaces and ensure consistency across the integrated system.
• Develop verification matrices and automated test procedures to validate software functions meet system requirements.
• Lead requirements traceability using tools such as IBM DOORS or CAMEO.
• Participate in design, peer review, and configuration management per NG engineering processes (CMMI, DO178C, MISRA C).
• Coordinate lab-based demonstrations and HWIL testing to verify software-hardware integration.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in requirements engineering and verification planning.
