Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Edwards AFB, CA is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, and validate mission-critical software. You will lead CI/CD pipelines, build environments, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-assurance systems for defense programs.

Required are strong C# and/or Java skills, Agile experience, and active US Secret clearance with potential to obtain Top-Secret. Travel and occasional on-site collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with at least 5 years’ relevant experience, or STEM Master’s with 3 years, or STEM PhD with 1 year.
• Experience with Agile Methodology and CI/CD Tools (Bamboo, Jenkins) and practices.
• Proficiency in C# and/or Java and Object-Oriented Software Design.
• Experience with scripts: yaml, Python, PowerShell, Batch, TypeScript.
• Active US Government Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance within a reasonable time.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems.
• Maintain and improve the software CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable delivery.
• Set up and deploy Development, Test, and Build environments.
• Create and update Windows installers.
• Install, test, and verify software products.
• Provide support for software builds and installation.
• Work within a Cross-Functional scrum to develop mission planning features.
• Interface with customer at a technical level.
