Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Rolling Meadows, IL is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer or Principal Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and sustain software for mission-critical defense systems.

Requirements include a CS/CE degree, 2+ years (or 5+ with master) and strong C++ skills, Linux or VxWorks, Agile/Waterfall, and experience with Git/GitLab/GitHub/Bitbucket. This is an on-site role with potential relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar engineering discipline with a minimum of 2+ years of engineering experience, or Master’s degree with 4 years additional experience.
• Object Oriented Programming in C++
• Familiarity with software architecture (design patterns, OO design)
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash)
• Experience with Embedded Software on Linux or VxWorks
• Familiarity with Agile/Waterfall methodologies
• Experience with version control systems (Git, Gitlab, Github, Bitbucket, ClearCase) and Agile planning tools (Rally, Jira)
• US Citizenship
• Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance
