Job summary

Curtiss-Wright DS, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and test embedded software for DSP boards in Ashburn, VA. You will work on BSPs, device drivers, BIOS/U-Boot, and verification test software, with opportunities to contribute to architecture reviews and new tech evaluations.

The role requires strong C skills, Linux and/or VxWorks driver development, and experience with embedded hardware verification. Security clearance is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 5+ years embedded software experience.
• Strong C programming skills, Linux and/or VxWorks device driver development.
• DS/FPGA related development, hardware design verification test development, firmware/BIOS experience.
• Experience reading IC datasheets, board schematics, and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test new embedded software.
• Apply established development processes and assist process improvements.
• Analyze requirements and develop design alternatives.
• Develop test software and procedures.
• Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation.
• Provide input to architecture, design and code reviews.
• Provide input/evaluation of new technologies and products.
• Keep current with embedded software trends and share knowledge.
• Provide task breakdowns and accurate estimates for project planning.
• Review and validation of software releases.
• Co‑coordinate software releases.
