Job summary

American Rheinmetall is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI to develop and integrate software-driven vehicle systems for defense applications.

The role requires extensive experience with RTOS, embedded C/C++, SysML/UML modeling, and hands-on lab work with hardware-in-the-loop testing, drivers, kernels, and containers. Travel for technology transfer may be required.

Qualifications

• Currently holds or has the ability to obtain SECRET US Defense clearance.
• End-to-end software engineering and systems integration across the product lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering and vehicle principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate vehicle software and cybersecurity through rapid prototyping and agile DevSecOps.
• Create software requirements, algorithms, and SysML models; simulate performance and evaluate against customer needs.
• Support SIL/HIL activities and test plan reviews to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Interact with external customers and suppliers during development and integration phases.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform corrective actions to maintain system integrity.
