Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Sterling Heights, MI, to develop embedded software for defense munitions programs. You will lead teams, design and test software, and coordinate with cybersecurity and systems engineering stakeholders while operating in a hybrid environment.

The role requires a strong background in C++ for embedded systems, RTOS or bare‑metal, and prior software leadership with EVMS familiarity; U.S. citizenship and security clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

Proficiency in Embedded C++ and real-time embedded systems (RTOS or bare-metal).
Strong background in software leadership and project execution.
Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS).

Responsibilities

Lead embedded software development for munitions programs.
Perform software design, development, integration and testing.
Support software verification planning, execution and test automation.
Manage schedules, estimates and technical execution.
Monitor cost, schedule and technical performance metrics.
Coordinate architecture reviews and design approvals.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers.
