Job summary

Sealed Air in Ayer, Massachusetts seeks a driven Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and support software and control systems for our packaging equipment throughout the product lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver robust solutions that enhance performance, connectivity, and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 7+ years of experience with electrical design and software development.
• Proficiency with software development for equipment and services.
• Experience with IoT technology with a focus on edge devices.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with industrial network protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, CAN Bus, DeviceNet.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain software/firmware for industrial control systems, embedded control systems, and test equipment.
• Develop and maintain software for database connections and data collection solutions.
• Design and program HMI/GUI interfaces.
• Maintain revision control on all documentation, drawings, and programs via ECN and document control systems.
• Support manufacturing relating to customer orders, inventory, parts, documentation, equipment commissioning, and maintenance of test equipment.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials.
• Troubleshooting and field support with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Create and maintain schematic drawings in AutoCAD (on occasion).
• Create and maintain cable assembly drawings and wire run/point-to-point lists (on occasion).
