Job summary

6AM City, LLC is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust software for embedded control systems in residential and power products. You will work closely with hardware, software, and product teams to define requirements, architectures, and interfaces for IoT-enabled devices.

The role emphasizes real-time software development on RTOS platforms (QNX/RTX/Zephyr), device networking, and test automation, with opportunities to lead software scopes within a co-design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 6+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong C and C++ programming skills for embedded applications.
• Experience with RTOS platforms such as QNX, RTX, ZephyrOS.
• Experience with communication protocols: RS-485 (Modbus), CAN, Ethernet, USB.
• Experience with board bring-up and test automation; co-design with hardware teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for microcontroller-based systems in C/C++ on RTOS.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and product teams to define software requirements and interfaces.
• Own components of embedded software with scalable architectures and testability.
• Plan and execute unit, integration, and system tests to ensure reliability.
• Develop software for test equipment, board bring-up, and end-of-line validation.
• Implement networking for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet under embedded controllers.
• Participate in code reviews, releases, and development process improvements.
• Assist hardware troubleshooting during product development in co-design environment.
