Job summary

Bevi is seeking a Senior Embedded Engineer to lead firmware design and multi-board architecture for our connected beverage machines. You’ll work across hardware, software, and firmware teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

You’ll own the embedded and Android systems software, advance firmware architectures, and mentor engineers while expanding our AI-driven tooling and testing practices. This role requires in-office presence 3+ days weekly in Boston.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on firmware development and production support.
• Proficiency in embedded C/C++ for ARM Cortex-M.
• Experience with bare-metal and RTOS-based applications.
• Ownership across full product lifecycle from bring-up to production.
• Strong at hardware/firmware boundary debugging with scope/tools.
• Experience with version control, build automation, and unit testing.
• Knowledge of UART/I2C/SPI/USB/Ethernet and related protocols.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication.
• Experience in Android Open Source Project or embedded Linux is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve multi-board firmware architecture for reliability and diagnostics.
• Lead firmware design for electromechanical systems and sensor integration.
• Collaborate with hardware team on bring-up and architectural decisions.
• Build internal tools to monitor, control, and validate systems.
• Lead triage and root-cause analysis to reduce customer impact.
• Drive CI/CD, unit tests, and hardware-in-the-loop testing improvements.
• Champion use of AI in firmware workflows and tooling.
• Set high engineering quality via reviews and mentorship.
