Panasonic Avionics Corporation seeks a curious, hands-on Software Engineer to develop software for configuring, testing, validating, and troubleshooting complex networks of embedded systems. You may code, analyze logs, debug network communications, and automate workflows across Linux-based platforms.

You’ll work with embedded devices, hardware peripherals, and cross-disciplinary teams to improve product quality and engineering productivity, while documenting processes and results.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software development, debugging, and troubleshooting of complex systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++, PHP, Go, Python, or other common programming languages.
• Software design, architecture, and object-oriented principles.
• Git and modern source-control practices (GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews).
• SDLC practices, including Agile / Scrum methodologies.
• Linux CLI, scripting, and automation.
• Linux operating system fundamentals and troubleshooting.
• Virtualization: KVM and libvirtd.
• Linux deployment and packaging.
• TCP/IP fundamentals and network troubleshooting.
• Wireshark and tcpdump for diagnostics.
• Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript; React/Vue/Svelte.
• REST APIs and HTTP fundamentals; SQL/MySQL.
• Embedded Linux, cross-compilation, and hardware interfacing.
• Firmware deployment and diagnostics.
• Root cause analysis and methodical problem solving.
• Technical writing and clear documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications and automation tools used to support engineering, manufacturing, and field operations.
• Troubleshoot complex issues spanning software, Linux systems, networking, and hardware interactions.
• Develop tools that improve product quality, system validation, and engineering productivity.
• Investigate failures through log analysis, diagnostics, and root cause analysis.
• Work with embedded devices, networked equipment, and hardware peripherals.
• Contribute to software architecture, design reviews, testing strategies, and code-quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to solve challenging technical problems.
• Create clear and effective technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and deployment procedures.
• Support engineering, manufacturing, and field teams as they diagnose and resolve complex issues.
• Continuously learn new technologies and apply them to real-world problems.
