Job summary

Panasonic Avionics Corporation seeks an experienced MTS IV – Software Engineer to architect and develop advanced software for next‑generation In‑Flight Entertainment and distributed edge platforms. You will work across low‑level firmware, C/C++ device drivers, and Linux OS configurations for multiple hardware variants, providing technical leadership and ensuring high quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering or equivalent
• Advanced degree (Master’s/PhD) in relevant field with 6+ years of experience or 12+ years experience in lieu of degree
• Strong C programming in Linux, including TCP/IP networking
• Experience with Shell scripting, Unix/Linux, algorithms and data processing
• Firmware/BIOS development in C/C++ and Python; Linux/Unix proficiency
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, embedded systems environment with real-time requirements

Responsibilities

• Designs, modifies and implements complex software applications per specs (IFE/edge platform)
• Codes, tests, debugs and refines software to deliver the product
• Develops tools and subsystems to support software development and testing
• Enhances software for performance, reliability and efficiency
• Reviews interfaces, tests plans and procedures; participates in requirements allocation
• Guides and mentors other engineers; communicates with senior stakeholders
• Documents designs and maintains lifecycle processes for software releases
• Supports system test programs and analyzes results
• Maintains software through lifecycle with high quality standards
