Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix seeks a Senior Advanced Software Engineer for the Anthem NGA Flight Deck project. You will design, develop, and integrate core FMS software within a fast-paced, cross-functional team to meet stringent certification standards.

You’ll collaborate with systems engineers and architects to define requirements, drive design reviews, and ensure robust, secure, and scalable avionics software solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
• 6-8+ years of experience in software development.
• Strong C++ and/or Object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum.
• Strong software architecture and design development skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Core Software architectures and applications for aerospace and avionics systems.
• Integrate Flight Management System (FMS) software into product development programs, ensuring seamless functionality and compliance with system requirements.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, architects, and other cross‑functional stakeholders to define software requirements, specifications, and technical solutions.
• Develop and implement software solutions that satisfy performance, reliability, security, safety, and scalability objectives.
• Participate in and lead software requirements reviews, design reviews, and code reviews, providing technical guidance and constructive feedback to team members.
• Perform software integration, validation, and troubleshooting on hardware test benches.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues through systematic analysis and debugging techniques.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and software engineering best practices to drive innovation and process improvements.
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the engineering organization.
