GAL Manufacturing, a Vantage Elevation Company, based in Bronx, NY, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for elevator control systems. You will design, develop, and maintain embedded software, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, tested solutions.

Occasional travel may be required for on-site testing and issue resolution. The role emphasizes real-time embedded proficiency, C/C++ development, and leadership of junior engineers within a dynamic engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in real-time embedded software engineering.
• Strong experience with C and C++ programming.
• Experience with embedded real-time operating systems.
• Strong embedded firmware development and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with revision control systems such as Git.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Experience leading small projects and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and maintain embedded software for elevator control systems.
• Troubleshoot and debug software and electronic hardware systems.
• Collaborate with field service, manufacturing, and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Work with electrical and mechanical engineering teams on product development.
• Perform functional testing of software updates and enhancements.
• Document software functionality and system behavior.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Support development of best practices, coding standards, and design processes.
• Occasional travel for on-site testing and troubleshooting.
