Job summary

Raytheon in McKinney, TX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Embedded to join the Electro-Optical & Infrared (EO/IR) Solutions Engineering Team. The role entails developing and testing real-time software for AESA radars and sensor systems, with on-site requirements and eligibility for a Secret security clearance.

The position requires STEM background, 5+ years in embedded software, and experience with C/C++, Linux, RTOS, and Agile practices.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant engineering experience.
• Software development experience on Linux, VxWorks, or other Real Time Operating Systems.
• Object-oriented programming in C++ and related languages (C, C#, Java).
• Experience scripting with Shell/Perl/Python.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Supports all aspects of a software development life cycle from concept and requirements to design, development, integration, test, and maintenance.
• Produces creative solutions to complex software integration problems.
• Collaborates with Systems Engineers to align end-user and operational needs with design.
