Job summary

L3Harris Integrated Mission Systems in Camden, NJ is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer – SMES Level to join a fast-paced Scrum team developing high-assurance encryption products for national defense. You’ll work on translating requirements into robust software for embedded targets, using C/C++ and Python, within an agile environment.

The role requires U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Secret clearance, a BS/MS in a related field, and 6+ years of embedded software experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering, EE, CS, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience developing applications on embedded hardware.
• Experience with RTOS such as Green Hills Integrity or VxWorks.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise in embedded software development and guide other engineers.
• Investigate root causes of complex issues and implement solutions.
• Develop software for embedded real-time operating systems.
• Collaborate across hardware/software interfaces and requirements.
• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle.
• Develop software test plans and procedures; document results.
• Peer reviews and defect tracking; ensure code quality.
• Use C/C++ and Python to implement software for embedded systems.
