RTX Corporation’s BBN Technologies in Cambridge, MA seeks an experienced software engineer to design, implement, and validate multi-domain system architectures with a focus on embedded software generation, testing, and research in C++, C, and Linux. You will work with government agencies to solve technically challenging problems with real operational impact.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5 years of experience, or a master’s with 3 years, or a PhD.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility.
• Experience in software design, simulation, analysis, and implementation.
• Experience programming in C++ or another modern object-oriented language in a Linux development environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sophisticated DCLT algorithms against threats in high-noise environments.
• Design and implement software to optimize sensor system performance.
• Develop software for guidance and control of autonomous vehicles.
• Support real-time evaluation of designs in mission scenarios and operational analysis.
• Optimize algorithm designs for highest performance.
• Plan/coordinate tasks or small projects; contribute to proposals and presentations; may travel for testing.
