RTX BBN Technologies seeks a Principal Embedded Software Engineer in Middletown, RI to lead real-time embedded C/C++ development across diverse hardware platforms. You will work on high-performance software, sensor interfaces, and control algorithms for DoD systems, collaborating with engineers and researchers in a multidisciplinary environment.

The role requires strong background in embedded systems, computer architectures, networking, drivers, and signal processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years’ experience, or an Advanced Degree in STEM with minimum 5 years’ experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience in Embedded C/C++ Software; High-Performance Computer Systems; Embedded Real-Time Sensors/Control Applications; or Advanced Software Architecture.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, implement, test, debug and integrate high-performance embedded real-time software within heterogeneous systems with multiple processors and FPGAs.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to test contributions and analyze performance.
• Integrate components into a larger system in preparation for real-world testing and deployment.
• Teach, coach, and mentor less-experienced staff.
• Contribute to proposals and participate in design reviews.
• Minimal travel required.
